Dancing Leaf Lodge kick off to summer

We had so much fun at Dancing Leaf Lodge in the late summer that we are going back June 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This time will be a little different program. Jan and Les are semi-retired and plan to fully retire soon, so this may be one of the last opportunities your child will have to hear the couple make history come alive through their amazing storytelling and artifacts. This program will be geared toward nature. We'll start with a two-hour program and then have a picnic lunch. Afterward, the couple will lead us on a nature hike where we will learn about native plants and animals. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Please RSVP to Karen Storrs at 308.350.1689 or Kerri Long at 308.737.5776.

Please join us on an "Around the World" adventure on May 8th where we will be visiting Norway, Mexico, Haiti, Austria, England and Australia!!!

April Enterprise Kids Academy class: Basics of Electricity

It's electric! We're not talking about the slide, but what's up next for Enterprise Kids Academy! Children will learn what makes a circuit work and recognize that the transfer of electricity in an electrical circuit requires a closed loop; identify materials that act as thermal conductors or insulators; investigate how electricity is generated and delivered; and discover possible hazards that occur around electricity and how to use it safely during the April Enterprise Kids Academy class. The class will be at McCook Community College's McMillan Hall, Room 201, on Wednesday, April 29, from 1-2 p.m. for 4- to 8-year-olds and 2:30-4 p.m. for children ages 9 and older. Jennifer Swerczek, energy education specialist at NPPD is teaching the class, which costs $5 per student. Register at the Center for Enterprise's website, centerforenterprise.com, or call 345.8122.
