Fun!

Adopt A Chaplain

Hi everybody,

Would any homeschoolers would be interested in helping with the "Adopt a Chaplain" project?

If you have too much Halloween candy (like we do), you can donate it to the service men and women who are protecting our country while being away from their families this holiday season.

There are other items that are needed as well such as Chap Stick, deodorant and body wash for men (not too fragrant), hand and foot warmers, razors, DVD movies (new or used), CD music, game books, crosswords, Sudoku, etc., Coffee Mate, coffee, hot chocolate packets, hot cider packets, single drink mixes for water, mac 'n cheese individual cups, ramen noodles (individual cups), microwave popcorn, power bars, granola bars, individual packages of trail mix, nuts, gum (not gun as the newspaper printed, ;)) and sunflower seeds.

I am going to ask the coordinator, Annie Trail, about making some Christmas cards to include in the packages. I think my children would like to do that.

Saturday, Nov. 15 is the last day to donate items. I can talk to Annie about us helping with packaging the items if anyone is interested. We could do it all together, of course, or could break up into smaller groups to accommodate everyone's schedules.

Let me know what you think!
